The very first League match of the newly formed Audlem Football Club took place this morning, Sunday 2nd September.
We had as opponents Crewe Town, a team that has been playing together for more than two years. And that truly showed, as they played well together, knew positioning and worked as a team.
As for ourselves, we ran and ran but not yet as a true team. Time alone and lots of training and good discipline on positions will bring the rewards.
The result — we lost 8 — 1. A hard lesson. A fast attacking game — and very well refereed by Kevin Crump of Sandbach.
We can only go up from this drubbing with our next league game against Scholar Green.
