Three men have been charged with allegedly being part of a major drugs conspiracy that saw cannabis delivered to Market Drayton.

In November 2012, West Mercia Police's Serious Organised Crime Unit executed drugs warrants at units at the Adderley Road Industrial Estate at Market Drayton and seized hundreds of kilograms of cannabis.

A total of 10 people were arrested and this week they are answering their police bail.

On Monday, three men were charged with conspiracy to import cannabis with intent to supply over a 12-month period from November 2011.

They appeared at Birmingham Magistrates' Court yesterday where all three were remanded into custody.

The three are David North, 50, of Blore Road, Hales, Market Drayton; Bann Klootwiijk, 47, of London Road, Nantwich and Mark Ballinger, 32, of Langley Walk, Farnborough, Hampshire.

One man has been released without charge this week, while a further six people are currently in custody and being questioned by detectives.
