Letters posted through doors on Cheshire Street (and Audlem Road presumably) indicate that pavement repairs will be carried out along the A529 from its junction with the A525 in the centre of the village to the end of the 30mph limit at the edge of the village (at Little Heath).
These works are expected to last from 28th April to 23rd May (except at weekends) between 9.30am and 15.30pm.
So the traffic lights are going to be with us for quite some time!
