Last night the whole of the Lord Combermere was taken over by the quiz teams and quizmasters for this very special Christmas Quiz.
Not a seat was empty as everyone tucked into the annual free buffet arranged by using surplus team entry fees. The Chefs gave us a magnificent spread of extremely good foods and at 8.45pm I began the auction of 10 donated lots.
Great response — and then to the quiz proper. All in all, with the raffle of fantastic prizes, we raised the wonderful sum of over £1100.
Those who missed such a great example of what this village is about must regret it and the donation of such a great amount to this very needy cause for the terminally ill children says an great deal of the Big Community Spirit we have.
Thank you one and all for making the night such a good one.
