The sharp eyed may have noticed a message that flashed up on Audlem Online briefly this morning enquiring if anybody had found a phone that was lost at the Fireworks display. Almost immediately, a second message was received from Barbara Baker, who wrote: "Just to let you know I have had my mobile phone returned to me by Mr Stretch. A young man found it and handed it in last night. I would like to say a big "Thank You" to that young man. Not only has he returned my phone but it shows us that all the young people in the village are not bad. So once again "Thank You."

Here's a snippet that might get Audlem historians interested.Reading a book entitled "Tales From The Old Inland Waterways", there is reference to the fact that there was a carpenter's workshop owned by the canal company on the wharf at Audlem. The carpenter was Bob Williams, and his main job was to do woodwork repairs to the locks in Audlem and Adderley flights. The date...
