Audlem poet, Jessie, has sent AudlemOnline her latest seasonal poem, via Ralph Warburton:

December, Advent and Christmas

There's much going on this time of the year
Because December is the month of Christmas
The birthday of our Lord. A celebration.
A time to reflect,
Count our blessings and give thanks.

It's also a special time of the year
For the young . and the young at heart!
A delightful month, exciting, joyful,
Full of wishes, hope and dreams
For all.

For those who have seen many Decembers,
Just sit a while
And remember those Christmases,
And the years in between.
Be thankful, be glad
Smile, be happy , not sad.

A busy month, an expensive month,
Nevertheless, a special month.
Shops are bright with fairy lights
To cheer us through the long dark nights.

When all is "done and dusted"
Planned, bought and paid for
Sit back, relax, blow the expense!
We're still here so -
Lap it up, the whole darned lot
Don't be the one Santa forgot.

Live, Love and Enjoy!
Happy Christmas,
From Jess
