Good response to the Survey
338 people responded to the recent online survey.
And, since each response had up to 4 votes, we actually collated 1338 votes.
Well done Audlem!!!
70% of the votes cast were for the following:-
|Potential use||Number of votes||Percentage|
|Green Car Park/Hedging/fencing/Improved access||234||17.5%|
|Bog Garden/ Wetland/dry walk/Conservation||110||8.2%|
|Do Nothing- leave as it is||85||6.4%|
|Green Gym/Circumference walk/run||65||4.9%|
With 17.5% of the total vote, it came as no surprise that the leading request, by a significant margin, was for the green car park.
In addition to voting for their preferred uses, well over 80 people also took the time to add some interesting and useful comments, including some very well received compliments for the working group — many thanks!!
As well as the 21 uses listed in the survey (all of which had previously been submitted by villagers) several more were added to the list!!
So, whilst clearly it's neither feasible nor desirable to implement every suggestion, the working group believe that the most popular ones, as above, should be submitted to Audlem Parish Council for their consideration, anticipated approval and, hopefully, availability of funding.
Open Meeting — July 11th
The results of this process are expected to be publicly available at the planned Open Meeting on July 11th. As we move forward implementing this list, then over time, the remaining suggestions can be reconsidered and re-evaluated. In fact as there is no doubt some degree of overlap between a number of the suggestions made, it may well prove practical and more cost effective to combine some of them.
Anyone who would like to see the complete set of survey results and comments can find them on the Turnpike website:- click here.
