How's your head for heights??
A few days ago some additional tree surgery was carried out in Turnpike Field. The tree in question had a Tree Preservation Order on it so there had been a slight delay whilst the work was approved.
Jeremy Nicholls took a few photographs whilst the work was in progress- anyone with a nervous disposition regarding heights should look away now!!!
My hat goes off to the skill and courage of anyone prepared to climb this high up a tree, particularly whilst clutching a chainsaw- personally I avoid this power-tool at all times!
There is a further tree requiring some attention and once this is completed that should see the field's trees in good shape for the time being. Bird and bat boxes can then be investigated, in keeping with the field's key focus on wildlife.
