St James Church, Audlem invites you to
Often referred to as the Service with the Orange, the idea of the Christingle Service came from the mid -18th century Moravian Church in Germany. It was over two centuries later in 1968 when it was developed and introduced to Britain by the Children's Society. Christingles are used by many Christian denominations in their Advent services.
Symbolically the orange represents the world. The red ribbon indicates God's love wrapped round the world and the blood Christ shed on the cross. The dried fruit and sweets are symbols of God's creation and also represent the four seasons. The lit candle symbolises Jesus, the Light of the world, who brings hope to people living in darkness.
Do come and join us for this warm and vibrant celebration of God's love.
Everyone will be very welcome.
