Famous and very well supported Quiz Nights at the Lord Combermere. Every Tuesday except December 24th.
Tuesday night was a prime example of the wonderful team work that goes on on Quiz nights. With a great way to start the autumn month of October with a superb happening Tuesday night. Leaves may be starting to lose their chlorophyll and start to drop but no such happening with the folks who turn out to be challenged! A great turnout by all our regular quizzers plus those who just happen on the night made for a truly successful event and all should all take a bow for helping a very good and deserving cause.
Over £700 raised!! One very happy Victoria Consterdine after all the cash was counted. A huge thank you to the talents of Dave Johnson of the Marine Pirates team on the microphone and auctioning so very successfully.
Thanks again to Allan and his oh so willing team in the service, sandwiches ( we nearly ran out!!) and tasty chips; to Bob my trusted lieutenant- and again, all who were there on the night- which I am sorry went over time a tad.
All are welcome to test their knowledge and enjoy a very happy village event. Hope to see you all next week and on all the Tuesdays now up to Christmas Ralph Warburton

As the village shops make their individual announcements about coming out of lockdown, we thought it would be useful to have a page in the COVID-19 section to provide a handy reference to these articles. We will try to keep this up to date as more information comes in.Click here to see this new...
