Ed — The Great Manchester Run took place on May 19th, and for various complicated reasons we are only now publishing Leanne's story
I entered the run at the end of March so didn't have long to get training and was also hard fitting my training in around working at AO and my shifts at The Lord Combermere but everyone at my work places supported me and I got a lot of sponsorship from both places too.
AO have also boosted my fundraising with another £100 bringing my total to £550. I also had a lot of support from the volunteers on the Audlem Lass who I am also a volunteer for, and Joe and Jane Hoyles had a paper sponsor form on my behalf and managed to get £125 towards my total which was a great help.
The day of the run my sister Francine and my nephew Charlie came with me to support me and the atmosphere was amazing and the spectators were fantastic. I ended up running the 10K a lot faster than I was expecting and also faster than I had been doing in my training.
It was a great day and I would definitely do it again.
But I couldn't have done it without all the help and support from everyone and thank everyone for their kind donations
