The Met Office has warned of a heavy frost throughout South Cheshire as the recent cold spell continues.
Gritters will be have been deployed in the area as temperatures were forecast to fall below freezing between 4am and 10am. No more than 2°c is forecast for the rest of the day & the wind chill effect will make it feel much colder.
Commuters are being asked to wrap up warm, allow extra time for their journeys and take care driving in icy conditions.
The cold snap is expected to continue into Friday with temperatures not expected to be above above 3°c.
