Audlem Charity Shop has necessarily been closed during the lockdown, and is still having difficulties trying to reopen following some lifting of the COVID restrictions.
However it has managed to have a popular stall outside the shop on Saturday mornings and a plant sale on Sunday afternoons in Windmill Drive.
There is another way in which people with "stuff" to get rid of can help the Charity Shop. Items can be advertised on the Buy/sell section of AudlemOnline as "Free to a good home" with a rider to the effect that a contribution to the Charity Shop would be welcome.
As well as this there will be some items in the "for Sale" section that have been organised by the Charity Shop.
The point of all this is that the Shop cannot take in items for sale while the lockdown is in force, and this provides a way in which such items can be sold for the benefit of the Shop, which ultimately means for the benefit of all the vital local Charities that the Shop has supported over the years.
So if you have any such item which you would like to give to the Shop to sell and which the Shop cannot deal with at the moment, please either advertise them yourself (with the caveat about a contribution to the Shop) or get in touch with the Shop who can advertise it on your behalf.
In the longer term, it is hoped and expected that Audlem Charity Shop will be able to reopen properly and resume its essential support for local Charities, but meantime this is possibly a way to keep some part of the business going.
