Many notices of cancellations and closures (and some of people managing to keep going) have been received at AudlemOnline — a lot of them are already known, and all of them will now be included in the Covid-19 information pages.
Aston and Disttrict WI Meetings Cancelled
Unfortunately, due to the measures needed to counteract the spread of the COVID-19 virus , all Aston and District WI meetings will be cancelled for three months or until further notice.
Our President wishes members well being and stay safe.
Cheshire East Markets closed
As part of further measures to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, all markets run by Cheshire East Council in Macclesfield, Congleton and Cewe -- both indoor and outdoor -- will close with immediate effect.
Household waste recycling centres closed
Following the announcement by the Prime Minister on Monday (23 March 2020), Cheshire East Council has taken the decision to close all its household waste recycling centres until further notice.
Residents are asked to retain any bulky or DIY waste -- do not leave it kerbside, please do not fly tip and do not place it with household or recycling waste. The closures will be reviewed regularly.
Canal towpaths care request
The Canal and River Trust have asked walkers to please now avoid any stretches with boats moored against the towpath, and strictly observe social distancing at all times.
This has become necessary due to the large numbers of people bending the permitted exercise rule. Boaters are no longer allowed to move and need to be able to step off their boats without the constant fear of bumping into walkers or having people using the picnic tables right next to them
Music and Arts Festival
Just to confirm that the Audlem Music & Arts Festival scheduled for May 21st to 25th) has been cancelled.
Audlem Physiotherapy stop face to face treatment
Audlem Physiotherapy has made the decision to withdraw face to face treatment for the time being and provide remote treatment as appropriate in the form of telephone or video sessions.
In emergency situations or following recent surgery, following official guidance, face to face treatment may be considered but will need to be discussed prior to an appointment being made. Philippa is still available by phone if you wish to contact her.
