If luck is on our side and everybody out there follows government guidance on washing their hands, maintaining social distance and wearing masks wherever required or appropriate, we are hopeful that we will soon be able to resume at least some ADCA activities within the next two months!

The Public Hall Annexe in Audlem and the Methodist Chapel in Hankelow, where most of our clubs and groups usually meet, have been thoroughly risk assessed for ADCA activities and new safety protocols have been agreed by the ADCA Committee based on government guidelines.

These new protocols will help us ensure the safety of members, staff and volunteers coming to activities in these venues. You can see the full protocols here.

The Covid-19 Service Plan

The ADCA Committee is now consulting with our members, our volunteers, and members of the Carers' Support Group on our proposed Covid-19 Service Plan to take us to the end of the year.

In essence, the new Service Recovery Plan will see the Home Support Service continuing for anyone who needs it, with new arrangements for Tuesday Club, Wednesday Group, and Friday Coffee Club members to meet indoors in small groups of eight, abiding by the new safety protocols.

Up to eight members of the Carers' Support Group will also be able to meet indoors, while any number of carers can attend a regular Carers Zoom meeting.

Sadly, it will not be possible for any of these groups to function as a 'drop-in', as we must strictly control numbers.

The Medical Transport Service will continue as at present (details here).

ADCA would very much welcome comments from the wider community on these proposals so if you have any specific comments on them or suggestions to make on other services which you would like to see ADCA develop, or want more information about how to become a volunteer or member of ADCA, then please

  • email them to adca.audlem@gmail.com(with the subject "ADCA Service Plan comments"), or
  • write to ADCA, Audlem Public Hall Annexe, Cheshire Street, Audlem CW3 0AH, or
  • drop your comments off at the Public Hall Annexe letterbox, addressed to ADCA.

Recovery Plan approval

We will publish the full approved Recovery Plan, hopefully in September 2020, when we have completed the consultation, setting out how and when we plan to provide safe group activity to our members and carers, existing and new.

We envisage a phased process, and we are conscious that events outside our control may have to be taken into account. We aim to keep everybody informed about what we are doing in a timely manner.

ADCA is extremely grateful for all the support the local community has provided to us, including to all our volunteers, existing and new, and for people's kind donations which help keep our expanded services going.
