Local resident Chris Lewis writes to say: "Has anyone heard a cuckoo yet this year. Last year I did not hear one. When we first lived in Audlem in late 80s and early 90s cuckoos were plentiful. Any suggestions where they have gone?"
Audlem Online received just one report last year of a cuckoo being heard — down by the Weaver to the west of the village. If anyone hears one this year, please let us know as they have been very elusive now for a few years.
