The good start to season continues for Saints!
Saints U11s moved to the top of the South Cheshire Youth League yesterday, Sunday, with a well deserved 3-0 victory against a spirited Cougars side.
The opposition had signed a few new players since last season and looked stronger and better balanced. Saints though, played excellently. Literally from the kick off, Saints put together a 6 man passing move that ended with a good save from the Cougars' keeper.
Simple but very very effective football followed from the Saints. Key to it all was good decision making — when to pass and when to shoot, short pass to feet or long pass to space, clearance out of play or a pass out of defence — each time the young boys made the correct decision.
This was a very mature and clinical performance. Three well taken goals secured the points but the performance was much better than just a win. It showed that the team has real ability to control a game by simply keeping the ball and making sensible decisions.
Well done Saints.
