The village has received a letter from Celia Webber in the Rural Communities Division of Defra saying they are producing a plaque for Audlem for winning the Defra Building Community Life Award. When it's completed, Defra say they would love to come to the village in the Spring, along with co-sponsors Calor, to present it to Audlem. Celia also thanked everyone for making the judges in the Village of the Year competition feel so welcome. She concluded by saying "You have a beautiful village with so much going on. We all felt it would be a great place to live in!"
