The Fire Brigade were called out on a mercy mission late Saturday night as the Music Festival was in full swing. Peter Silvester of the Mill Shop reports at 11.00pm that the firemen had just arrived at Audlem Wharf to
rescue a cow that had walked into the canal just below the lock.
As he says: "Obviously, this changes the music festival into a moo-sic festival. And as the cow has
been in the cold water for some time, it might be friesian by now!"
