Celebrations in The Square

Audlem Online has received the following report from the chairman of ADAS (Audlem District Amenities Society). "Even though many New Year's Eve fireworks were cancelled across the nation because of the forecast strong winds and heavy rain, here in Audlem we had read the runes right and went ahead with a lovely display as the midnight hour struck.

"The Square was full of the noise of happy chatter and then — as midnight happened — the sky exploded with fireworks. This was a very very happy village event with much shaking of hands and kissing of cheeks. One miscreant went up the tree — to be collared as he came down and to be chastised.

"All in all Audlem showed the rest of the country once again how to do it! Happy New Year from ADAS , ASET and the Parish Council."
