Calling all Flapper Girls & 1920s Gangster Guys to the Audlem Speakeasy!
New to the Audlem Music & Arts Festival this year is a "Pop-Up 1920s Speakeasy".
Located in the Methodist Church Car Park from Saturday 3rd to Monday 5th June, visitors are invited to come and join us for non-alcoholic cocktails (well it is the period of prohibition), Charleston lessons, flapper head dress making and more.
Set to the backdrop of the sights and sounds of the Roaring Twenties there is something for everyone.
The speakeasy's resident songstress is the stunning, jazz vocalist Bexi Owen who will be singing the work of composers like Gershwin and artists such as Ella Fitzgerald.
Behind this new addition to the Festival is locally based vintage events &
authentic prop hire business "Happy Heritage"- click on the link below the poster — with kind support from The Academy Buckley the 1920s Ballroom.
They will be running Charleston lessons at 1.00pm and 3.00pm on Saturday 2nd June & The Academy of Performing Arts from Wychwood Village & Betley who will be running Bugsy Malone inspired workshops at regular intervals from midday Monday 4th June with the opportunity for participating children to perform in a mini "Fat Sam's Grand Slam Speakeasy" performance at the festival!
Keep up to date with the timings of our different activities by following us on Twitter @HappyHeritage and Facebook: www.facebook.com/happyheritage
as well as keeping your eye out for our A-boards & chalkboards with up to date timings on events throughout the Festival.
So, dig out a feather boa or put on your braces & "Won't you Charleston With Me"!
