After Audlem's frequent appearances on TV this year, it was Buerton's turn today to be on the nation's screens. A Buerton property was one of three featured in today's Escape to the Country programme on BBC2 at 5.15pm. It focused on a couple of potential house buyers deciding which, if any, of the three properties they like best.
The local property, a truly magnificent thatched house — although described as a "cottage" — was up against a family house in Macclesfield and a spacious barn conversion. All three were very special homes, but the programme concluded with the couple opting for the Buerton property which, they said, they now hope to buy. Their decision was clinched after they had looked around the area and, despite the south Cheshire location meaning a longer commute to work, Buerton clearly appealed enormously.
