This week's Nantwich Chronicle includes a tale that equals any that local character Billy Gibbons has ever been involved in.
It appears that a Chester woman, who does not want to be named for reasons all will fully understand, was shocked to find a strange phenomenum taking place in her toilet bowl.
Too much information, we hear you shouting! Well, the Chronicle tells us the phenomenum in question — shaped from a piece of soaked toilet paper — was at first thought to be Elvis Presley but on closer inspection proved to be Audlem's very own Billy Gibbons!
The newspaper even displays a photograph of the image which, even we cynics on Audlem Online have to admit, has more than a passing resemblance to Billy.
Audlem Online has been in touch with Billy to ask for his reaction. He retorted: "I've been told, for quite a few years, that I'm going 'down the pan' and 'I'm 'all washed up'...well....turns out, they may be right!!!!"
Whether this strange sighting will lead to a quasi-Gracelands tourist industry developing in Audlem is uncertain — but stranger things have happened after some far-fetched apparitions have appeared around world.
Any further reports of such sightings would be welcome but we reserve the right to limit those published to the clean and tasteful.
You can read more on Billy's unusual toilet appearance in this week's Chronicle (Pg 3), available at Williams' newsagents at 80p.
