Billy Gibbons writes: "Hi and Happy Easter. Jim Kirkpatrick and his Rockabilly band, New Moon Fever, are playing at the Jolly Tar, Wardle, on the 24th of April. They have kindly asked me to join them on stage and shout some songs at people which, all being well, I'm hoping to do.

"There have been reports that this is my band and I'd like to say, as flattered as I am, and as much as I'd like it to be, it isn't. New Moon Fever is a band that Jim formed a while ago to do more obscure Rockabilly songs and he has asked me on many occasions to join him on stage but due to health reasons, most of the time I've not been able to. I hope the 24th will be an exception!

"I have to say, since the onset of my particular health problem (no, that's not just another word for old age!) I have really missed not performing on stage as it was a big part of my life, in fact, for many years, almost the only part of my life! So, many thanks to Jim and the band for asking me to sing with them and I hope the night will be a lot of fun, as I'm sure it will. Thanks, Billy Gibbons"

Allan and Jo Brown — Pillars of our CommunityAs I sit here with my glass of wine — alcohol is necessary because no great story ever began with someone eating a salad — I contemplate the fact that great pubs don't happen by accident. Some clever people have made them happen, through their choice of staff, drinks, decor, furnishings and, more importantly, by stamping their personalities on...
