Jim Kirkpatrick has contacted us to let us know what happened when he tried to access Audlem Online from Charlotte Airport — as regular readers will know, Audlem's favourite musician has been playing over in the States in the past few weeks. Unfortunately, the SonicWall Content Filter Service at the North Carolina airport prevented him getting on to Audlem Online. The reason: Forbidden Category "Adult/Mature Content"!
We know we run some pretty hot news but this is a development that's taken even us by surprise. But will it boost readership, we wonder?

Here's a snippet that might get Audlem historians interested.Reading a book entitled "Tales From The Old Inland Waterways", there is reference to the fact that there was a carpenter's workshop owned by the canal company on the wharf at Audlem. The carpenter was Bob Williams, and his main job was to do woodwork repairs to the locks in Audlem and Adderley flights. The date...
