ADAPT meeting tonight

Petrol is at £1.40 a litre and heating oil at twice the price of a few years ago.

It's only spring, but hose-pipes are already banned across parts of the country.

Crewe and Nantwich is in the news for its high levels of youth unemployment.

How resilient is our community in the face of the combined and interrelated effects of the energy crunch, climate change and economic uncertainty? What role could localisation play in increasing our community's resilience?

Does localisation mean a return to subsistence and poverty? Or is it an opportunity to review current assumptions and rebuild local economies around meeting local needs, reducing energy waste and carbon emissions and providing jobs for our young people?

Come along to the ADAPT meeting this evening, Wednesday, 4th April at 7.30pm in the Baptist Chapel, Audlem to discuss resilience and localisation.

It's based on Chapter 4 of The Transition Companion book, but don't worry if you don't have the book — come and join the discussion anyway!
