Temporary Assistant Coordinator

Audlem & District Community Action — 8 hours per week at £8.00 an hour..

ADCA is a local charity company providing services to older people and their carers in the Audlem area of Cheshire. We are looking to recruit an additional Assistant Coordinator as our services are expanding.

You will be responsible to our Development Coordinator and, alongside our volunteers, the role is to support our members across the range of our services to older people including within our Day Clubs, Coffee Club, Befriending Service and Carers Support Group.

You must have a good understanding of and be sympathetic to the needs of vulnerable older people along with good communication organisation and nutritious meal preparation skills. You must also be able to assist people in a flexible and non-judgmental way, recognising that people have the right to live in the manner of their choosing. Use of your own car for work is essential for which expenses will be paid.

The post is for a six month period but may be extended subject to funding. The post is subject to DBS clearance and a probationary period. The closing date for applications is 17th July 2017 with interviews to take place on 24th and 25th July 2017. Short listed candidates will be invited to meet our members and volunteers to find out more about the role prior to interview.

As the post holder is working with vulnerable adults, there is a requirement for ADCA, within its Safeguarding Policy, to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check on you at the enhanced level.

NB. All significant and relevant convictions or cautions relating to safeguarding will be disclosed by the DBS no matter how long ago they occurred. The disclosure of minor offences does not automatically bar someone from working with vulnerable people.
