Short-ARS walkers take shelter
Church of St. Michael and All Angels, Marbury

If our top photo doesn't lure you out on a Short-ARS walk, nothing will!

Yesterday, fourteen members of ARS, including many newcomers, enjoyed a five-mile circuit from Marbury.

Despite an appalling and so-typical Bank Holiday weekend weather forecast, the first hour's walking, along a peaceful section of canal, was in unexpectedly glorious sunshine.

As the group arrived at the planned stopping point for coffee, however, the heavens opened — and a single tree provided some much needed shelter during a twenty-minute downpour of epic proportions.

Unlike much of this summer, the sunshine then resumed and glorious views from Wirswall Hill across south Cheshire made the soaking worthwhile!

It was then back to Marbury where many headed off to explore a seeming clone of Audlem's St James, the Church of St Michael and All Angels, Marbury.

Others, however, could hardly wait to get back to the Lord Combermere for the Festival beers and ciders.

I was wondering if anyone in Audlem was involved with the Shoe Box Appeal? I recently went to Romania, Cluj with Teams 4U and helped deliver to the children's homes, gypsy camps and schools. Also to some of the Mums.I was suggesting I use my large garage as a storage /drop off place but I didn't want to organise it if there was something already set up. I cannot begin to tell you...
