As readers will be aware the new Public Hall Annexe will be opening on the 18th November, and has been designed to provide facilities for a community fitness room, youth club room, changing rooms for Audlem football club and others, Lounge and Dining facilities for ADCA and changing and preparation hall for the 5A's drama group. So AudlemOnline thought it might be helpful if these groups could let readers know how these superb new facilities will benefit their groups by publishing a series of articles on each in the run up to the launch date.
Today's article is about the Fitness room facilities by Ben Clark and Adriana Roscoe:
"We all know how hard the APHAx committee have worked to fund and commission the annexe to the public hall. Amongst the many new facilities available will be Audlem's first very own fitness suite.
Where will it be?
The Gym will be kitted out on the first floor of the annexe. Bright and airy, and equipped with cardio vascular equipment as well as kit for strength training, the gym will provide local residents with a fitness facility on their doorstep.
How will it run?
A small committee of Audlem residents will operate the gym on behalf of the main APHAx committee assisted by a professional fitness trainer who will provide inductions and instruction as needed. Open from 7am until 9pm every day, the gym will be available for use by those aged 16 or over. Members will be issued with a fob to gain access to the building and the gym.
Sounds great. How much?
Our aim is to provide a facility that is affordable as well as convenient. The cost of membership will be £12 per month, if paying by standing order, or otherwise £14 per month. If you want to pay for a whole year's membership in advance, this is available at a discounted rate of £125. Concessions will be available to those in full time education.
Who will show me how to use the equipment?
The gym will be unsupervised for the majority of its opening hours.. However, all new members will undergo an induction session with a local qualified fitness expert so that everyone can use the gym in safety and get maximum benefit. You won't be able to use the facility until you have had your induction. Once you have received your initial training, you'll be free to use the gym at any time between 7am and 9pm each day (except for certain bank holidays). If you need extra help or some personal training, private sessions with our fitness coach will be available.
When will it open?
We hope the gym will be fully kitted out and ready for use early November 2017. We will be holding an open afternoon at the Public Hall Launch event on Saturday 18 November — come and visit us and see your brand new kit! We are taking applications for memberships now.

The gym has been equipped to cater for a variety of routines, whether you are interested in general fitness, sport preparation or rehabilitation from injury.
