Live Music lovers were offered an Audlem treat yesterday with the Murfjam, a day of live music at the Lord Combermere and all in a good cause — raising money for a small local charity.
The Paul Murfin Foundation for Young Drummers was set up in memory of Paul Murfin, a local drummer who tragically died in a motorbike accident last year.
Paul was a delightful man and an inspirational percussionist who performed regularly at the Audlem Festival.
Many of the musicians who worked with Paul over the years will be in attendance including rock/pop sensations Live Wires, Smoke Screen, Doog and the Gang, the Greg Murray Band — seen here in the photo — and Audlem favourite Mark Stevens. Plus, lots of guests.
One of singer/songwriter Greg Murrays' songs was even composed the day before Paul's death. He and band members spoke of how much they wanted to remember him through the charity.
The music ran from early afternoon to late, outdoors at first, inside in the evening.
