The following Chatbox comment has appeared today and it's worth warning a wider audience that something suspicious has been going on:

"I had a problem with the cash machine at the co-op this morning (Saturday).

"My card worked ok and I waited for my money to come out, but it didn't appear. I noticed that the front of the machine looked a bit different — no glue marks around it which there usually are.

"I tapped the metal area where the cash comes out and it was wobbly and sounded hollow — I managed to get my fingernails down the back of it and realised a piece of silver plastic was over the money slot — fortunately I managed to remove it and retreive my cash.

"I reported it to the co-op and also the police. I would just like to warn everyone to be extra vigilant when using this and all cash machines."
