Audlem Voices is a mixed voice choir with nearly 30 members.
We rehearse on Tuesday evenings from 7.30 to 9.30, in St. James' Church in the middle of Audlem, just opposite the Combermere Arms.
Anyone who can sing in tune and would like to join us, please come along. We shall make you very welcome.
Audlem Voices was started by Jenny Collis-Smith in January 2008. Our first performance was on Good Friday that year, when we sang Stainer's Crucifixion. As part of Audlem Festival 2008 we performed various folk songs and spirituals.
In 2009 we continued to develop our repertoire. On Good Friday we sang Fauré's Requiem in the church and in late May our Festival performance included a selection of songs from "Oliver!". We received some extremely complimentary comments from members of the audience on that occasion.
Our next venture will be a joint concert with Crewe Male Voice Choir (which is also directed by Jenny) and this will be held in Audlem on 31st October. Our programme will include favourites from "The sound of Music" and other Rodgers and Hammerstein shows.
